Plasma Carnitines


Plasma carnitine is useful in identifying disorders of fatty acid oxidation and some organic acidurias along with a blood spot acylcarnitine profile.

To request this test please send sample with a request providing patient ID (three identifiers), specimen information, assay required, relevant clinical details and sender information. Additional information

Sample should be spun and separated within 30 minutes of collection and frozen at -20�C.

Sample requirements

0.5ml Lithium Heparin plasma is the preferred type. Serum samples are acceptable.
