Hepatitis serology screen

In addition to the PCR assays for the detection of viruses causing hepatitis, serology tests are also employed in patients with signs and symptoms of hepatitis. The full serology hepatitis screen employs a combination of automated ELFAs and manual EIAs for the detection of EBV VCA IgG and IgM, CMV IgG and IgM, Hepatitis A total antibody (followed by Hepatitis A IgM if indicated), Hepatitis B surface antigen and Hepatitis C antibody and core antigen.
