Mycoplasma pneumoniae serology by PPA


Description

Mycoplasma pneumoniae can cause atypical pneumonia, as well as encephalitis. Total antibody titre to this bacterium is determined using a passive particle agglutination assay. A four-fold rise in titre between acute and convalescent samples is suggestive of recent infection.
