Description
Neisseria meningitidis is the major cause of bacterial meningitis in the UK, in both adults and children. It is also a cause of septicaemia. This real-time PCR assay targets the meningococcal ctrA gene. The assay is multiplexed with an internal control PCR to detect Neisseria meningitidis DNA in clinical material whilst controlling both the extraction and amplification procedures.
